If you caught my low-energy #selfcaresunday video, you know I re-started my vegan diet and haven’t quite adjusted to it yet!
So, I had a really, really chill Selfcare Sunday.
Before sporting a BRO MASK from my friends at Jaxon Lane. I wiped the slate clean with the Dermalogica Active Clay Prebiotic Cleanser. It’s quite an interesting clay cleanser — not what I was expecting. It’s not very clay-like at all. In a good way. Sure it’s got the typical Kaolin clay that helps to absorb excess oils and deep clean the skin.
But it’s also got a high level of Glycerin and Safflower Seed Oil — more than the Kaolin itself — at ingredients no. 3 and 4, meaning it’s not the least bit drying. It glides on like pudding! (Minus the stickiness!)
There’s literally zero foaming, so no chance of any stripping of skin’s vital oils, which can cause reactivity and the overproduction of sebum, particularly in oily prone skin.
There’s some Charcoal Powder, too, for that detoxifying effect brands claim charcoal provides. Though I’ve never been convinced that skin needs or can be detoxified from the outside. That takes a change of diet!
Dermalogica’s Active Clay Prebiotic Cleanser is good stuff, though. Rich, creamy, non-stripping and nourishing. Left me feeling fresh and clean, but hardly detoxed.
