PRODUCT REVIEW: ZIIP BEAUTY NANOCURRENT DEVICE – BEST MICRO-CURRENT DEVICE, BEST HOME FACIAL SKINCARE
ZIIP BEAUTY | NANOCURRENT DEVICE
If you missed my #selfcaresunday video on my IGTV yesterday, be sure to check it out here. I featured ZIIP Beauty’s wildly innovative facial device.
—
After having it on hand for a couple of weeks, I finally took the new ZIIP Beauty Nanocurrent Device out for a serious test drive.
Similar to Foreo and their UFO masking device, ZIIP has a cool iPhone app that guides you through the process. But it’s so much more insightful. The app is like having a personal aesthetician right there with you at the bathroom sink! (Or wherever you choose to ZIIP!) That expert happens to be the founder of the company, who’s rather wisely filmed very intricate video guides for each treatment.
What Is Microcurrent and What Does Microcurrent Do for Your Face?
Of course I was curious to understand what a microcurrent is and what it does for the skin. I found a fun, insightful article on microcurrent on the Byrdie website. You can catch the full article here.
Known as a non-invasive facelift, and a great Botox alternative, microcurrent facials introduce a low-grade electrical current delivered through a small machine onto the face muscles. The muscles contract and are trained—just like a gym workout—to lift and sculpt the face. Microcurrent is used to lift the eyebrows, define cheekbones, tighten and firm skin, and stimulate collagen growth.
Benefits of Microcurrent Facials
Redefines and enhances your features
Produces collagen in the dermis
Erases signs of aging
Painless
Results are visible in minutes
“The microcurrent facial uses two handheld prongs that deliver precise dosages of energy to the skin and work simultaneously to repair and produce collagen in the dermis, which is the deepest layer of the skin, while gently erasing signs of aging in the epidermis, which is the top layer of skin,” explains Vargas.
I opted for the Sensitive Energize treatment — a rejuvenating session that uses gentle currents - both micro-current and nano-current — to tighten skin and brighten the complexion.
The really cool (literally and figuratively!) part of it is the conductive Golden Gel you apply before hitting start on the device.
Not only does the ZIIP Golden Gel facilitate penetration of the currents into the skin and muscles of the face and neck, but it’s a great pro-skin health serum infused with humectants, amino acids and peptides. There’s also some gold in the formula (hence the name!), something that always cracks me up. Gold has little to no benefits for the skin except as an anti-microbial. But hey it’s cool.
My treatment was 12 supremely pampering minutes of massaging the ZIIP device over my face and neck. My skin looked and felt really damn good after — and as you can imagine, the benefits are cumulative. The more you use it, the better you look. Fingers crossed that I can stick with it. These innovative facial devices often end up in the device graveyard — aka the drawer under the sink.
